How to import files
Import audio, MIDI, and project files into Soundation’s online studio.
Import audio and MIDI files
There are multiple ways of importing audio and MIDI files into your project on Soundation.
Drag and drop
Drag audio or MIDI files from your computer’s file manager and drop them into Soundation’s arrangement area. Drop the audio and MIDI files in the + Drop or import sounds box to automatically create new channels or drop them directly on the channels. Just make sure the MIDI files are dropped on Instrument channels and the audio files on Audio channels.
Click and select
Other ways of importing can be done by right-clicking on the arrangement area and selecting “Import audio file” or “Import MIDI file”. In the pop-up window, locate the audio or MIDI file you want to import. You can also click on + Drop or import sounds to import your files.
Import project files
By importing studio projects (.sng and .sngz files) into Soundation you get all the audio files, instruments, effects, arrangement, and automation used in the songs.
- 1Click on the Folder icon from the sidebar on the right-hand side of the studio
- 2Click “Load project file”
- 3Select the .sng or .sngz file from your computer and click “Open”
An alternative is to simply drag and drop the project file to the + Drop or import sounds box.
